Sea of Sand EP | Adia Victoria

Okay, I realize the blog has been a tad female-centric as of late, but honestly the ladies have been on point these days and I can't resist wanting to share all these incredible finds. Adia Victoria is classic. Her emotion spills through the headphones - her southern drawl radiating in my mind for minutes after. You can definitely feel her distain for the south, carrying the same darkness as other famous female southerners...I'm thinking Nina Simone - but that is likely just because I watched "What Happened, Miss Simone?" just yesterday and I'm torn up about the saddness she dealt with in her lifetime. Anyways, that's another story. In the meantime please give this EP a listen. Listen here.
