Comrades, let us introduce you to the stunning face of weartheheartis, Mckenzie. Her passion for life (not to mention clothes) is palpable and she has finally decided to share it with you on her new website and blog cleverly titled, Wear The Heart Is. She is everyone's go-to person for all things style and so naturally, when it was time for us to get out of our five year old jeans and scuzzy T's to hit the festival circuit, we called her. Whether you're going to a backyard BBQ with nothing but a playlist, or Tomorrowland with a few hundred DJ's, Mckenzie should (and does) inspire. Just like music, clothes are a reflection of identity and spirit. They're a physical outlet for emotion and often art. Whether you are going to dress for a fest or not, you can learn something from reading up on Mckenzie and her project. PS. click the photos for more info!
Together, we're going to take on the summer. SO, without further adieu, Wear the Heart Is:
Music has always been an important part of my life, and I’m really excited to be teaming up with EWM to bring you some festival fashion inspiration!! I fell asleep to the sound of guitar almost every night growing up, as my dad has been a passionate, talented low-key musician for many years. Fashion has been another major source of expression and amusement for me ever since I can remember, and that is why I decided to start WearTheHeartIs.ca last month. I needed a platform to share my favourite outfits, styles, trends, places to travel, and anything else I love. My blog is not only about what clothing to wear, but also another place for me to show people the photographs that I take when I travel (which is when I am the most happy, as I’m sure most of you can relate!).
My style is constantly changing depending on the season, place I’m living, stage of my life, etc. However, I am usually dressing a bit more on the “girly” side, and always wearing pieces that are very affordable (Forever 21 is my jam). I love the festival style because who doesn’t feel cool with a fringe purse and flowers in their hair (yes, guilty)!?! As I get ready to go to Squamish Music Festival in beautiful British Columbia I've picked out a few pieces to share with you guys that I know would be perfect for dancing the night away.
So, if you are a lover of affordable fashion, don’t even like fashion at all, but need something to wear that will make James Bay fall in love with you, I hope you find some inspiration here! And please check (or follow, in which case I would be forever grateful) my Instagram @weartheheartis! Stay tuned this week for more festival looks to come!
xx Mckenzie
P.S. This is already the highlight of my time at Squamish:
