Beattape | Da Poet

The streets of Istanbul are perfectly chaotic - a somehow sustainable marriage of manicured mosques, crumbling holes in the wall: the old and the new; the conservative and liberal. Religion holds the city together but the visible vices of society's fabric make it what it is. Returning from a dinner with friends - both old and new - filled with the extremely dinner-appropriate conversation...we sat in my hostel where I first heard the Turkish hip-hop beats of Da Poet. Totally groovy and smooth, Da Poets "Beattape" is appropriate for lollygagging, conversation, chill pres, or even those moments (hopefully far in the future) for studying. First stop on EWM's musical world tour: Turkey.
