Even to non-jazz enthusiasts, Kamasi Washington's name may sound familiar. Why? He is one of the reasons Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly has such a jazzy sound. Washington's sax wailed on Kendrick's tracks and his solo album, The Epic, let's us gain a grasp on his full potential as an amazing composer, arranger and musician. It's a hard to describe the immense epicness that is this album, so just sit back and listen here to the full album. For three hours. Okay, maybe if you don't have time, chop it up. But seriously. It's beautiful. (For a sampler listen to "Re Run Home" below.)
