Even to non-jazz enthusiasts, Kamasi Washington's name may sound familiar. Why? He is one of the reasons Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly has such a jazzy sound. Washington's sax wailed on Kendrick's tracks and his solo album, The Epic, let's us gain a grasp on his full potential as an amazing composer, arranger and musician.
