Waxahatchee | Air

Katie Crutchfield, better known as Waxahatchee - named after the river in Alabama - is just as new to us as she likely is to many of you. She has a pretty distinct sound when you chalk her up next to alot of folk artists out there. Her sound is simple, genuine and...careful (I think that's the word I'm looking for). She doesn't appear to take too many risks in terms of her sounds and arrangements, but there's nothing wrong with a good old meat and potatoes track.

She records with Merge Records, and is due to put out a new EP in April. Keep an ear out! Listen here.
