We're in the midst of a funk revival, so what better way to pay tribute than with the Commodores' "Brick House"? Released in 1977, the song came about during a break in recording as the band's equipment had broken down. Bassist Ronald LaPread started slappin' some bass and next thing you know one of the greatest songs the Commodores ever released was born.

Most of us will probably relate to the Commodores through the hilarious reference made by Chris Tucker in Rush Hour 2:

James Carter: How come you ain't got no black people performing in this casino? We ain't good enough for you?

Pit Boss: We got Lionel Richie!

James Carter: Lionel Richie ain't been black since the Commodores!

What's better than the unlikely duo of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker?! Not much, gentle-readers. Not much.
