Every Morning | J Mascis

The song of our Saturday: "Every Morning" by J Mascis. Off of his second solo album Tied to Star that he released in August, "Every Morning" taps into his Mascis' acoustic side for sure. Definitely a different vibe than what we're used to from his Dinosaur Jr. days.

We did some reading about the album and found this quote from the literary genius' at Pitchfork - they summed up his talent better than we ever could:

"When he plugs in, he can bend notes into a language that is both new and familiar, conjugating active verbs from punk and metal, translating concrete nouns from blues and folk. He’s one of the few guitar gods whose technical prowess never sounds like an end in itself, but simply a means of getting his point across. Which is not to say that he doesn’t occasionally showboat, but that he showboats with great purpose."
