Mended With Gold | Rural Alberta Advantage
With one half of us being Albertan, the realease of some new Rural Alberta Advantage material is particularily exciting. After major critical success of their last self entitled album, they've come out guns blazing on thier new album, Mended With Gold.
Pitchfork sums it up better than we ever could:
"The Toronto-based trio, led by born-and-bred Albertan Nils Edenloff are full of nostalgic songs about hometowns and heartbreaks, marrying salt-of-the-earth acoustic rock to energetic rhythms and grand orchestral arrangements."
The album really flaunts the bands incredible musical abilities, with crowd pleasing bangers like "On the Rocks" and "Our Love..." (make sure to listen to the sick drumming on these tracks) and then emotional slow-downs like "Vulcan, AB" and "To Be Scared".
Take note! The highlight is definitely the last half of the album.
PS - Haligonians, we caught wind that if you go to Taz's Records and buy it on vinyl you get a free mug! Gotta love free stuff.
