#TBT: Joe's Head | Kings of Leon

For this one we're only going back to 2003, but it still makes us feel ancient considering that 2003 was 11 years ago....Yikes. Back to business: "Joe's Head" was released on the Kings of Leon's debut full-length album Youth & Young Manhood. Now the pre-"Sex on Fire" Kings of Leon is a VERY different band, accentuating their southern garage-rock sound and boasted a fanbase that wasn't a majority of 12-year-old girls (again making us wonder about the ominous music industry and it's ability to change a band's music for the sake of $$$).

Youth & Young Manhood was recorded at the famed Sound City (where Nirvana recorded Nevermind) but unfortunately while it was well received in the UK, in the good ole' U S of A they failed to even break the Top 100. It's hard to select just one song from this classic album, but while "Joe's Head" wasn't even considered a single, it's an underrated song that you can listen to over and over again. If you like this, we highly suggest you listen to all of the Kings of Leon's earlier work as it is gold.
